Dear Sirs!
INVENTRA has the pleasure of inviting you to the Fourteenth International «Polyethylene / Polypropylene 2017» Conference.
Date: March 21, 2017
Venue: Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow
POLYETHYLENE 2017
The past year has proved to be successful for the Russian polyethylene market. Producers of PE maintained their focus on supplies to local converting companies; the output volume was growing, while the range of available grades was expanding. This helped replace the imported material in many areas of application. At the same time, sharp feedstock price fluctuation is still a problem for the local customer. What will the PE producers’ pricing policy be and how will the assortment of grades change in 2017?
The trends in PE converting segments were ambiguous in 2016. For instance, production of plastic films and rigid packaging continued its growth: large companies invested in modernization of operations and developed new products. On the other hand, the polyethylene pipes market declined for the second year in a row. The main negative factor is stagnation in construction and utilities sector. The pipe segment will not return to the level of 2014 in the nearest future. What will the PE consumption structure in general look like in 2017?
POLYPROPYLENE 2017
The polypropylene market has been steadily growing and outperforming all the other segments in Russia’s plastics industry. PP producers are building up output volumes and significantly expanding the product assortment in line with converters’ demand. However, certain grades continue to be in shortage, and that’s where the import from Europe remains significant. Will Russian plastics producers be able to cover consumption in converting with quality feedstock? How long will it take?
Despite the general economic downturn and lower purchasing activity, the demand for polypropylene has recovered. PP consumption in Russia has exceeded 1 million tons, while it was just under 800 kt in 2010. The experts are forecasting the trend to persist.
In addition, there is a broad trend in the market as polypropylene replaces other plastics like polystyrene, ABS and PVC across various applications, which opens up new horizons to polypropylene converters. Will this become a new point of growth, and shall we face redistribution of markets? Which consumption segments should the industry bet on? Do the market participants need additional support measures?
The main topic of Conference is development of converting markets in Russia. What are the support and development measures the government has to offer for the PE and PP markets? What are the status and outlook for various converting sectors? How to establish effective relationships with customers? How real and feasible the export is?
Participants of the Conference include 3М, Aditim, Akzo Nobel, Alterplast, BASF, Centropolymer, Chempack, DPO Plastik, Dupont, Dow, Europlastic, ExxonMobil Chemical, I-Plast, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, Kartli, Kazanorgsintez, Lukoil, LyondellBasell, Milliken, Lava, Mir Upakovki, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Ormos-plymer, Polymir, POLYPLASTIC Group, PRO AQUA, Regent Nonwoven Materials, Russian Plastic, Sabic, Sibur, Stavrolen, UTS, others.
